Sara has been an Eagle County resident for 28 years. She served as our Eagle County Clerk and Recorder for ten years from January 1993 to January 2003.

Born and raised on a cattle ranch in Montana, Sara is a true westerner with a passion for the beauty of the Rockies and a strong belief in the independent western spirit. During high school and college she had the opportunity to spend time studying and living in Mexico. Beyond speaking Spanish, Sara's life experience gives her unique insights into our Hispanic community and in the past she has served as a volunteer interpreter for Padres Unidos Para Educacion, taught ESL classes and used her Spanish skills in most all of her employment capacities.

In 1978 Sara came to Eagle County and started to work in the hospitality business in several organization and management positions. Throughout her years living here Sara has been an active volunteer in community service programs that include: Mountain Hospice, Gypsum Daze, 9 Health Fair, 4-H, The Resource Center, Eagle County Fair and Rodeo, Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration (former director of parish life), Edwards Cinco de Mayo and the Salvation Army.

After retiring from the County Clerk position (term limited) she brought her experience in the successful management of municipal elections as a consultant for SysTest Labs of Denver, working on projects in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the states of Wisconsin and Florida and in Ohio for the County of Cuyahoga County.

Sara has been married for sixteen years to Bill Fisher, a 38 year resident of Eagle County. Together they enjoy hiking, skiing, horseback riding, travel, family, friends, and (of course) their dog, Harmony.
